Hire a DevOps Engineer in India
AX3 places India-based DevOps, cloud and platform engineers who own CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability and release reliability. Contract engineers are typically presented in 48–72 hours; permanent hires run two to four weeks; a full platform pod including an SRE lead can be running within three weeks. Engineers are assessed on production incident experience, not only on tooling familiarity.
Talk to usWhat a DevOps engineer actually does
A DevOps engineer shortens the distance between a commit and a safe production release. That means pipelines, environments, infrastructure as code, secrets handling, deployment strategies and the observability needed to know whether a release actually worked. Done well, it removes manual steps that teams have quietly accepted as normal.
The second half of the job is operational: alerting that reflects user impact rather than CPU graphs, runbooks that survive a 3am page, and cost visibility so the cloud bill does not grow faster than the product. Engineers who have carried a pager reason about these trade-offs differently from those who have only built pipelines.
CI/CD engineering
Build, test and deploy pipelines with quality gates, environment promotion and rollback paths.
Infrastructure as code
Terraform or equivalent modules, reproducible environments and drift control across accounts.
Kubernetes and runtime
Cluster configuration, workload autoscaling, ingress, secrets and progressive delivery.
Reliability and cost
SLOs, alerting, incident response, capacity planning and FinOps guardrails.
Four ways to engage — with pricing model and speed to start.
| Model | Best for | Pricing model | Speed to start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contract | Migrations, platform build-outs and reliability remediation | Monthly or hourly rate, time & materials | 48–72 hours for bench-ready engineers |
| Contract-to-Hire | Your first dedicated platform hire | Contract rate then conversion fee | 1–2 weeks to shortlist |
| Permanent | In-house SRE and platform ownership | Placement fee with replacement guarantee | 2–4 weeks to offer |
| Remote Team | 24×5 platform operation and continuous improvement | SLA-backed monthly retainer per pod | 2–3 weeks to a running pod |

View skillsHire a DevOps Engineer in India — frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a DevOps engineer, an SRE and a platform engineer?
A DevOps engineer focuses on delivery pipelines and infrastructure automation. An SRE owns reliability targets, alerting and incident response for running services. A platform engineer builds the internal developer platform other teams consume. Small teams combine all three; larger estates should separate them.
Can AX3 engineers work with our existing cloud accounts and tooling?
Yes. Engineers work inside your accounts, IaC repositories and pipelines under your access controls. AX3 does not require a tooling change to place an engineer.
Do you provide out-of-hours cover?
Yes, through the remote-team model. A pod can provide 24×5 monitoring and incident response with defined escalation, which is usually more cost-effective than hiring a full on-call rota in one location.
How do you screen DevOps engineers?
Screening covers infrastructure-as-code work they have authored, a walkthrough of a real incident they handled, and a pipeline design discussion. Certifications are noted but do not substitute for production evidence.
