What is the difference between an SAP functional consultant and an ABAP developer?
A functional consultant designs and configures business processes inside SAP modules such as MM, PP or SD, and owns testing and cutover for those processes. An ABAP developer writes code — reports, interfaces, enhancements, CDS views and BTP extensions — when standard configuration cannot deliver the requirement. Most projects need both, with the functional consultant specifying and the developer building.
